COVID-19 has affected us all. The realities are harsh for the people that Egbe Hospital serves in rural Nigeria.
Due to the strict shutdowns in Nigeria, most people in the poor areas of the Egbe region are no longer able to work, resulting in a loss of income. They do not have the benefit of government support, and no income often means no food.
Pregnant mothers and those with young children will face a tough dilemma – do I put food on the table, or do I get necessary obstetric and/or pediatric care? Most of us are never faced with this predicament.
Egbe Hospital has developed the Benevolent Fund to help those who need medical care but are unable to afford the full cost. The need for benevolence is becoming more significant as the challenges of the pandemic become a reality for many poor families.
Please take an additional step of compassion this #GivingTuesdayNow and give toward the Benevolent Fund. Your gift will go a long way. For example, $50 will allow a pregnant mother to receive obstetric care as well as a safe delivery in the hospital! $20 will allow her child to receive diagnostics and treatment for common ailments. I cannot stress enough how much your gift of any size means to the people of Egbe.
Thanks for being the difference in someone’s life today.
