The Construction Manager will give leadership to revitalizing the ECWA School of Nursing new-build construction and infrastructure upgrades. He will work alongside the local Maintenance and Construction Supervisor to develop the construction plan and schedule with corresponding project budgets and timelines; support the hiring, negotiation of payment and management of work of construction employees, subcontractor construction crews and temporary workers; support the ordering and purchasing of construction materials and supplies; adhere to Revitalization Project accounting, billing and documentation processes; and support leadership of Revitalization Project staff supporting the academic and medical staff.

The School of Nursing is located on the hospital campus and comprises approximately 25 buildings. The Nursing School Revitalization Project will include the construction of 3 new dormitories, an administrative building with study hall, a kitchen with dining hall and laundry, staff housing and a sports field. Buildings on the existing school campus will be remodeled for classrooms, auditoriums, offices and staff housing. The Nursing School complex will require the installation of a new 15,000 gallon water tank, water pipes and new electric wiring to connect to the campus grid. Roads on the compound will require ditches to curb erosion caused by the heavy rains.

Egbe Hospital is a large rural teaching hospital located in a very “underserved area”.  The hospital complex sits on 33 acres with 68 buildings, and has a Nigerian staff of 140. Founded in 1952, the hospital has undergone significant revitalization, with major improvements to its infrastructure, electrical and water systems, vehicle fleets and medical equipment.
