Diagnostic Services

The X-ray department has recently been upgraded to include a new digital fixed x-ray machine and a portable x-ray. Other diagnostic tools include four portable ultrasounds, a fixed ultrasound machine, electrocardiography and gastroscopy.

In 2014 a new lab was installed with expertise from World Wide Labs, significantly increasing the hospital’s capacity for on-site testing of most tests needed to support diagnosis and laboratory investigations at the hospital.

Outpatient Services available Monday – Sunday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Conveniently located adjacent to the out-patient department, the pharmacy offers well stocked, competitively priced drugs for in-patient care and out-patient prescriptions. Strict controls are in place to ensure patients receive quality medication.

Outpatient Services available Monday – Sunday, 7:00 AM – 9:15 PM

Medical Services

Patients needing to see a physician are welcome to enter the hospital through the Outpatient Department located at the front of the hospital through the main gates. Upon arrival, patients are encouraged to register at the Records Office located in the Outpatient Waiting area. Patients will be called by a nurse for initial assessment and placement in one of the 7 patient examining rooms for examination by a Consultant or Resident Doctor.

A chaplain gives messages of hope to patients waiting in the Outpatient Department daily.

General Outpatient hours are: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM; Saturdays 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

24 hour emergency and intensive care is offered in the Emergency Room and Intensive Care Unit, with immediate attention to arriving emergencies.

The hospital offers three main wards for medical and surgical patients. The wards offer comfortable beds with privacy curtains and shared washrooms. Nurses provide around the clock nursing care.

  • maternity – includes obstetrics/gynecology ward caring for pregnant women during labour and delivery and post-delivery care for mother and child.

Two private rooms with toilet, sink and shower are available for patients wishing to take advantage of private amenities.

A wonderful resource for families, the Under’5’s Clinic offers antenatal, postnatal, maternal, child health care, immunization and family planning. Clinic days are as follows:

Monday – Antenatal
Wednesday – Antenatal
Thursday – Family planning and Circumcision
Friday – Vacinne/Immunization

The hospital’s Eye Centre offers treatment of major and minor eye disorders, refraction for glasses, dispensing glasses, eye screening and ophthalmology procedures for glaucoma and cataract. Eye outreaches are conducted to neighboring communities with referrals to the center for treatment.
