Medical Laboratory Technician
Reporting to the Head of Department for the Clinical Laboratory, the Medical Laboratory Technician will collect and analyze a variety of biological specimens. He / she will be responsible for performing specific testing and reporting results to the Physicians via the Electronic Medical Record system.
Responsibilities
- Receive biological test orders from the Physicians through the Electronic Medical Record system.
- Collect and analyze biological specimens from patients.
- Report biological test results to the Physicians through the Electronic Medical Record system.
- Assist with organizing work areas and workflow.
- Assist in the care of all equipment assigned to the Laboratory.
- Assist with the quality control and preventive maintenance programs of the laboratory.
- Practice efficient and economical use of laboratory supplies.
- Behave reassuringly to all patients who come to the laboratory.
- Assist in preparing Laboratory stock solutions.
- Carry out specific assignments as indicated by the Laboratory Head.
Qualifications
- Must possess a National Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technician
- Must possess a valid license from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria
- Knowledge of Quality Management systems is an asset
- Proven experience of at least 2 years as a Medical Laboratory Technician in a Clinical Laboratory.
- Must be a growing Christian.
- Must demonstrate the ability to teach and train others.
- Must demonstrate proficient computer skills and proven working knowledge of email, Ms. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, working knowledge of office
