Medical Staff
ECWA Hospital, Egbe currently has a staff of approximately 140 including medical, administrative, and maintenance staff of the hospital. The goal of our staff is to provide excellent service while demonstrating the love and compassion of Christ to co-workers and patients.
Dr. Benjamin Kakule Malikidogo, General Surgeon, joined ECWA Hospital Egbe in March 2020 as Head of Surgery and Director of Clinical Services. A graduate of the Pan African Academy of Christian Surgeons, Dr. Malikidogo served as Head of Surgery and Attending Surgeon at Banso Baptist Hospital, a 300-bed hospital in Cameroon. Prior to that, Dr. Malikidogo served as Medical Officer and Chief of Staff at Centre Medical Evangelic Nyankunde (CME). Dr. Malikidogo assumed the position of Acting Medical Director in July 2022.
Dr. Hanson Chidi Otuneme is an accomplished and seasoned General Surgeon who joined ECWA Hospital in May 2023. He was born and raised in the vibrant city of Kano, but hails from Ezesara-Emeohe, Mbaoma Emii in Imo State. He graduated with a degree in General Medicine from Ternopil State Medical University in 2013. He then enrolled in the Pan-African Academy of Christian Surgeons (PAACS) in 2018. He finished his Residency program in General Surgery in 2023 with a certification from Loma Linda University, USA. Dr. Chidi has a rich experience as a General Surgeon in various healthcare institutions in Nigeria and abroad, showcasing his skill and excellence. He is passionate about providing outstanding care and has a deep knowledge that makes him a wonderful addition to our surgical team. He also speaks Hausa and Igbo fluently, which enhances his communication with patients and colleagues.
Dr. Oguntoye Oladapo Stephen, a native of Odo Otin in Osun State, has rejoined the ECWA Hospital Egbe as a Consultant, Family Physician in April 2024. He assumed the role of Head of Department Family Medicine Residency Program in May 2024. Before his resignation in 2022, Dr. Oguntoye had served the hospital for seven years, initially as a Resident Doctor and later as a Consultant. He brings a wealth of experience to our medical team and will also serve as a mentor for the resident doctors at ECWA Hospital Egbe. Dr. Oguntoye is deeply committed to medical outreach and spreading the gospel, reflecting his passion for helping those in need.
Dr. Osuji, Nnamdi Thaddeus is from Nsu, Ehime Mbano Local Government, Imo State. He obtained his medical training in 2008 as a Medical Doctor from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka Anambra State. He was successful at the September 2012 Primary Examination in the Faculty of Family Medicine of National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria. He joined the hospital’s Residency Training Programme in September 2017 as a Registrar.
Dr. Layode Ibukun Israel is from Ibadan South-East, Oyo State and trained as a Medical Doctor at the Ladoke Akintola Univesity of Technology, Ogbomosho. Having passed his Primary Exam in the Faculty of Family Medicine under West African College of Physicians in April 2018, he enrolled into the Residency training as a Registrar in September 2018.
Dr. Jeremiah Queency Okunrobo, a native from Edo State, Nigeria, joined ECWA Hospital Egbe in November 2022. She is a graduate of Changsha Medical University, Hunan Province, China.
Dr. Adejubu Joy Adewunmi joined ECWA Hospital Egbe in December 2022. A native of Ondo State, Nigeria, she is a graduate of Kursk State Medical University, Kursk City, Russia.
Dr. Ifede Chukwuanugo Jeremiah joined ECWA Hospital Egbe in October 2023 as a Medical Officer. Dr. Ifede is a native of Oba, Ideili South, Anambra State. He is a willing Medical Officer who is ready with the latest knowledge and skills to increase work efficiency, organization progress, and sustainability for the hospital. Dr. Ifede loves to read, pray, meet new people, and attend seminars.
Dr. Agwu Patrick Chukwuebuka joined ECWA Hospital Egbe in November 2023 as a Medical Officer. Dr. Agwu is a native of Uburu, Ohoazara L.G.A, Ebonyi State. He is a keen physician who has the most up-to-date knowledge and skills to boost work performance and organization growth. Dr. Agwu likes to travel, listen to music, socialize, and watch adventure movies.
Dr. Akubo Maryann Ajuma became part of ECWA Hospital Egbe as a Medical Officer in January 2024. She comes from Lokoja, Igalamela L.G.A, Kogi State. She is an eager Medical Officer who has the most recent knowledge and skills to enhance work productivity and organization development. Dr. Akubo enjoys reading, cooking, and baking.
In April 2022, Dr. Achebe Emmanuel, an Optometrist, was assigned to ECWA Hospital Egbe. He is a native of Abagana in the Njikoka Local Government of the State of Anambra and a graduate of Madonna University in the State of Rivers. Dr. Achebe will complete his Youth Service Corp in the Eye Centre of the hospital.
A native of Igbaruku in Yagba West LGA, Kogi state, Mrs. Komolafe, Grace Ayobami holds her Bachelor of Science in Health Education from Ekiti State University, Diploma in Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW) from Kwara State College of Health Technology, Offa and Professional Development Certificate in Leadership & Management in Health from University of Washington, December 2017. She joined ECWA Hospital Egbe in 2004 and lead the pharmacy team from 2017- 2018 prior to her appointment as the Manager for Clinical Support Services in November 2018.
Mr. Lawal, Niyi Ademola is a native of Oyo State and hails from Ibadan, North East Local Government. He graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University(OAU), Ile – Ife in Osun State with a Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree. He joined ECWA Hospital Egbe in October 2018 as the Head of the Pharmacy Department.
Mrs. Iloabuchi Loveline Nneka, a Licensed Medical Laboratory Scientist, joined ECWA Hospital as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in September 2023. Mrs. Iloabuchi, a native of Aku Igbo – Etiti L.G.A in Enugu State, graduated from the University of Nigeria Nsukka in 2017 and was appointed the Head of the department in January 2024. She brings a wealth of experience to the Medical Laboratory department and helps the Hospital actualize its vision through the delivery of accurate, reliable medical lab procedures and results.
Mrs. Carine Malikidogo joined ECWA Hospital Egbe in March 2020 and was instrumental in opening the Physiotherapy Department in May 2020. Prior to joining the hospital, Mrs. Malikidogo served in the Physiotherapy Department in Banso Baptist Hospital in the Northwest Region of Cameroon. She has a B.Sc in Physiotherapy. Besides providing physiotherapy, Mrs. Malikidogo loves baking pastries.
In July 2014, Mrs. Adeyemi Olowoniyi Iyabo began working as a registered nurse at ECWA Hospital Egbe. In 2012 and 2014, Nurse Adeyemi graduated from the ECWA School of Nursing and Midwifery in Egbe, Kogi State, where she earned her nursing and midwifery licenses. Before being promoted to her current position, she served for over a decade as a Nursing Officer in the hospital’s Maternity Ward and Under-Five Clinic. In her current role as Nursing manager at ECWA Hospital Egbe, she contributes a wealth of ethical professionalism and leadership growth to the hospital’s nursing department.
Mr. Aworo, Ayodele John is a native of Mopa-Amuro, Kogi State. A Registered Nurse trained at ECWA School of Nursing, Egbe, he joined the Hospital in December 2010 as a Nursing Officer and is currently the Matron, Male/Surgical Ward.
Miss Yusuf Idowu started working as a registered nurse at ECWA Hospital Egbe in February 2009. Nurse Yusuf obtained her nursing license from the ECWA School of Nursing and Midwifery in Egbe, Kogi State, where she graduated. Before being promoted to her present post, she spent almost a decade as a Nursing Officer at the hospital. She brings her expertise and knowledge glean through her tenure to her present position as Head of the Female/Pediatric Ward.
Mrs. David Caroline Funmise, a Registered Accident and Emergency Nurse, joined ECWA Hospital Egbe in July 2020 as a Nursing Officer. Mrs. David, who hails from Akoko South L.G. A in Ondo State, served for a few years before proceeding to the School of Post Basic (Accident and Emergency) Nursing, UITH, Ilorin, where she was trained as an Accident and Emergency Nurse in November 2022. She was appointed the Head of Department for the Emergency Department in March 2023, bringing a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the department.
Nurse Ologun Seunayo Abigail joined ECWA Hospital Egbe in December 2018 as a Registered Nurse, having graduated from ECWA School of Nursing and Midwifery, Egbe. She served as a Nursing Officer at the hospital for over five years before being appointed the Head of the Intensive Care Unit. Nurse Ologun has undergone extensive training in critical care in-house and through the National Health Service (NHS) in England. She brings a wealth of experience to her current Head of Intensive Care Unit role, demonstrating her leadership abilities since the unit’s inception in February 2023.
Mrs. Stephen Jumoke Ololade, Registered Nurse Anesthetist, joined ECWA Hospital as a Nursing Officer in November 2012. Mrs. Stephen, a native of Igbagun Yagba East L.G.A in Kogi State, was reassigned to the Anesthesia Department in the Operating Theater as a staff in training in February 2018. In November 2020 she went to the School of Post Basic Anesthesia Nursing and completed her training in Nursing Anesthesia, after which she was appointed as the Head of Department for the Operating Theater.
In early 2012, Mrs. Olatunji Funmilayo Mary began her career in nursing at ECWA Hospital Egbe. In 2007 and 2011 respectively, Mrs. Olatunji attended the ECWA School of Nursing and Midwifery in Egbe, Kogi State, where she earned her nursing and midwifery licenses. She worked as a Nursing Officer at the hospital for over ten years before being promoted to her current position as Head of Department, Under 5’s Clinic. Mrs. Olatunji offers a great deal of experience and knowledge unit.
Mr. Oyawale Olushola Elijah, a Registered Dental Therapist with over 15 years of military dentistry and international experience, worked under United Nation Peacekeeping Operation (Medical) as a Dental Therapist in Liberia as well as Western Darfur. He joined ECWA Hospital Egbe on 15th September 2021. Mr. Oyawale comes from Ogbomosho south in Oyo State and brings his vast experience working with the Military to our dental clinic.
Mr. Oyedele, X-Ray Technician, joined the team in October 2022 as the X-Ray Technician. Mr. Oyedele, a native of Ondo, Ondo West L.G.A in Ondo State, was appointed the Head of the department in November 2023. He brings a wealth of experience to the X-ray unit and helps the Hospital actualize its vision through the delivery of accurate, reliable imaging results.
Mr. Okunrinmeta, Emmanuel Mayokun hailed from Mopa, of Mopa-Amuro Local Government Area, Kogi State, Nigeria. He studied Health Information Management at Ahmadu Bello Univeristy Teaching Hospital, Zaria, Kaduna State where in obtained Higher National Diploma in 2014. He joined the service of ECWA Hospital Egbe in March 2019 as a Medical Record Officer/Head of Department, Medical Records.
Pastor Alabi, Julius Taiye hailed from Egbe, Yagba West Local Government, Kwara State, Nigeria. He studied Marketing at the Kaduna Polytechnic. He also received a Diploma in HIV/AIDS Prevention and Management from the College of Venereal Disease Prevention, London, England. He joined the hospital in 2007 and works with the Spring of Life, an SIM HIV prevention program, Project 96407.
