Volunteer on a Construction Team through Samaritan’s Purse
Are you a Christian skilled trade’s person – roofer, electrician, plumber, brick layer, or carpenter? Do you have experience in construction? Volunteers are needed to assist in upgrading and renovating existing hospital buildings including roofing, re-wiring, installing new plumbing and repairing structures. General maintenance, re-roofing and renovations are also needed to the 12 staff residences. Volunteers will also assist in fixing water sources and power generators, and will perform general clean-up and trimming to restore the hospital infrastructure and compound.

Short Term Opportunities
Are you a Protestant Christian physician, nurse, ophthalmologist, surgeon or other medical professional interested in volunteering at ECWA Hospital Egbe for 2 weeks or more? As a volunteer you will work alongside hospital staff teaching and mentoring while impacting the lives of patients.

| $50,000 | A list of medical equipment has been identified by the doctors working at the hospital (examination lights, scopes, stools, examining tables etc) |

Housing for Missionaries, Resident Doctor and Visiting Consultants Serving at the Hospital

| $25,000 | Remodel Egbe Hospital Guest house for Nigerians assigned to the hospital for several months. (New roof, bathrooms, kitchen, appliance, window screen and paint) |

| $5,000 | Use empty shipping containers to make 12 little merchant shop across the road from the hospital in order for the hospital staff and patients to purchase food and supplies. Supply clean water to the public just outside the hospital in order for people to take the water back to their homes when clean water is scarce in the dry season. |

| $15,000 | Cost of shipping one 40’ container ($3,000 for the purchase of the container, $5,000 shipping Miami to Lagos, Nigeria, $7,000 dock and clearing fees and duties & transport to Egbe by road) We use the empty containers for storage, small shops and housing. |
| $6,000 | Remodel the “Chapel of Blessing” on the compound beside the hospital. The chapel is used every day for hospital staff and students from School of Nursing and Midwifery – Tile the floor, interior paint, replace some of the windows and install a speaker system |
| $20,000 | Benevolent Fund – There is a modest charge for those patients in need of medical care from Egbe Hospital in order to keep the hospital self-sustaining. It is our policy NOT to turn patients away if they are unable to pay for the medical treatment they have received. Many people in rural Egbe are poor, old or without relatives so they are unable gather payment together from their entire family in order to pay their hospital bills. Some are able to work-off the charges in a work program we offer to those capable of physical labor. Donations to the Benevolent Fund (Project ) will enable the hospital to continue to treat patients without undue burden to the hospital funds. |
